Swan Community
At The Swan, we have always created a safe space for young people so that they have,
"Somewhere to Go, Something to Do and Someone to Listen," and since the establishment of our charity in 1996 we have done exactly that. We have positively impacted the lives of young people in our community. So when we heard about the closure of 'Open Door' we wanted to make space for other members of our community and create a similar space for them. So having consulted our Board of Trustees and staff team, we opened our doors so that the members from Open Door still had a place to go, somewhere they could socialise, get together with friends and have something to eat and always have someone to talk to. This was the birth of the "Warm Welcome Cafe" under our Swan Community Umbrella with the Volunteers.
The Volunteers want to create a charity and are in the process of seeking new premises under their new charity name, "Berkhamsted Together." In the meantime, we have warmly opened our doors so that we can really make our centre a hub for the community. Whether you want a quick cuppa, somewhere warm to be with friends or even have some time alone or grab a quick bite to eat, we are here. The Warm Welcome Cafe is open daily from 11.30am to 2.30pm from Tuesday to Fridays weekly.
If you would like to support us during this extension to our programme, then please either donate via the QR code or pop in and donate in person. Even small amounts make a positive difference to the lives of those in our community. We appreciate your support.
