Community in action: the renovation of The Swan Youth Project 💛

The new year has kicked off with a massive buzz at the centre! If you’ve been passing by, you’ll have seen that we are right in the middle of a big renovation. We’re working hard to repair damage from previous flooding and finally make the improvements we’ve been dreaming of for our young people.

This transformation is only possible thanks to the amazing teams at Lux Property Services, Peabody Community Foundation, and Connect Property Services. They have worked tirelessly through Christmas and the New Year to help us stay open as a hub for the community. We feel so lucky to have this support — it ensures The Swan Youth Project will be fit for purpose for generations to come.

It’s been a real team effort. Some staff have even used their own holidays and charity days to help us paint and refurbish. To say a huge thank you, we cooked up a homemade lunch — chicken curry, chana masala, and potato curry — to share with the guys on-site. It was a wonderful moment of "community helping community."

A special thanks to Martin, Dave, and the whole team at Lux Electrical Contractors who have been grafting so hard to get things ready. It’s going to look amazing!
